Mystery of the Cosmos: Episode 5

EPISODE 5

There were 6 kingdoms in the Quitri continent, Ataliya being the biggest. The next was k'noku, kingdom of krolls. After that was Biefa, the coldlands. Veron, kingdom of Drakkens, Tolhi, the underwater kingdom and Talkita, the kingdom of gold.

All the rulers of all six kingdoms were seated in the throne room of Ataliya with their escorts. 

Queen kohra, Prince Consort Lesker and Lady Jeir were seated at the head of the room. To their right was king Aairon and Commander Xetri from the kingdom of Biefa. 

Beside him was King Terron and his sister Princess Mica from the Kroll Kingdom K'noku. In front of them was King Sol and his brother Prince Lee. 

The final two Kings were King Niberi and his royal adviser Lord Del from the underwater Kingdom of Tolhi and King Gire with his daughter, Princess Iliyanni from the Kingdom of Drakkens, Veron.

The additions there were Lady Diqa, the leader of the Principality of Soden, the elders of the Sun elves and the night elves. 

"I thank you all for honoring my summons on such short notice......." Queen Kohra started. All the rulers had very odd expression. They didn't dare to not show up.

Kohra just continued, not paying them aby heed.

"I know all of you heard about my fight with the sun god Ituli and how I defeated him on behalf of the daughter of the moon, the princess of the night elves.

Well, she asked for a favor about a year ago and I had to honor it. I went to mount Konora and sought the wizard of the tempest......."

"With all due respect Queen Kohra, the wizard of the tempest was rumored to be dead a hundred years ago. My master confirmed this rumor herself" Lady Diqa cut in. 

"Aside that, Alea isn't from this continent. How could she possibly know there?"

"Are you doubting my words Lady Diqa?" Kohra asked with a smile. Shivers immediately went down all their backs. Diqa was more confused than scared. She nodded.

"Your friend Alea sent you a letter too, didn't she? Take this and confirm if that's her handwriting or not" Kohra says, sending a letter to Diqa through a mini portal. The letter lands in her hands and she reads through.

"It is her handwriting" Diqa says in defeat. 

"Lady Diqa, I do not care how your friend got the information. The reason why I'm here is to protect this planet and us from being wiped out. You can keep your sentiments in your pocket, they have no use here" Kohra reprimands. Diqa shrinks in her seat and lowered her head.

Kohra looks at everyone with a pointed glare.

"Any more distractions and your kingdoms will be looking for new rulers before the end of the day. Do I make myself clear?" She threatens, a bit of her magi sipping out. They all freeze in their seat and manage to nod. She released the pressure and goes back to explaining her purpose.

"There is a threat to this planet. I know you all think of the ancient wars as folklore but they did happen. I'm not the best person to convince you of this so I brought someone to do so. Let him in" 

An orange haired man walked into the throne room dressed in luxurious garbs. He had a bored look on his face and thick black cuffs on both hands.

"The sun god, Ituli"

*FLASHBACK*

After Kohra had regained some of her energy, depleted from the battle with Ituli, she walked up to his prone form and slapped two black cuffs on his wrists.

"I.....I wasn't going to hurt her" Ituli says and Kohra paused. 

"What were you going to do with her then?"

"She's a celestial. I wanted to take part of her energy and meld with it"

"And wreck havoc with it? How are you sure that taking her celestial energy won't hurt her? Besides, she has been riddled with bad luck and pain. You caused all of that"

"I want to apologize for that. I was going to use the energy to take over the Nrieth Continent. There's something coming that I want to protect my home from"

"I'm not listening to your self righteous crap. I'm taking you to the god council. They'll know what to do with you"

"Please, you have to listen to me. Even she knows something is coming but the celestials aren't willing to help. The god council wouldn't help either"

"You were sealed once for almost destroying your home. Why should I believe you?"

"If you don't believe me, would you believe her then? Ask the daughter of the moon what lies beyond the stars"

"Do not recite to me bed time stories"

"I'm not. Just give me a chance, please"

Kohra looked into his eyes, ignored his pleading expression and dragged him to the dungeon.

*FLASHBACK END*

"Kohra, I thought you had him imprisoned by the god council. Why is he here?" Lesker inquired with skepticism. 

"I didn't send him to the god council. I kept him in the dungeon below the castle. He's got useful information I would rather stays with me"

"She made the right choice" Ituli says with a smirk. It irks Lesker but he made no comment. 

"My lord" The sun elders say, kneeling before Ituli. 

"Oh good, you're all here. Did you bring the records?" Ituli asks, turning to them. The sun elders nod and hand him a huge scroll. He lays it before Kohra like a peace offering. 

"Those are the records of the war we had with those invaders. I was at the forefront of the battle and I witnessed how many of my comrades were slaughtered with their strange contraptions. 

We collected those contraptions but they all got destroyed during the course of the war.

They were very similar to humans but not a single one of them had magi. Yet, they were better than the best fighters and warriors we had. It was a total bloodbath. 

The rest of us gods were able to make them leave but as we suspected, it was only a retreat. 

I went mad after the war, causing me to be sealed up by the other gods. Before I was sealed, I told my descendants about the war and how they should look for signs of the invaders coming back. 

They found evidence and tried to remove my seal so we could protect ourselves from the oncoming invasion" Ituli explained.

"How do we know you speak the truth Ituli? How do we know you're not just trying to take over the Nrieth Continent again?" The leader of the night elves asks with contempt. 

"I am trying to take over the Nrieth Continent but just to get the ire of those damn celestials and bring them down to help"

"What good will that do? Celestial do not meddle in the affairs of gods or mortals. They just exist and do whatsoever they please" 

"If this planet gets destroyed, wouldn't they be affected? Wouldn't you be affected? Look, I know I gained your hate after what I did to the daughter of the moon so I'm trying to make things right. I know you would never listen to reason at this point so I'm forced to use violence"

"You're absolutely right. Let me do our home a favor and rid of you right here, right now......."

"SILENCE!" Kohra's voice thundered in the hall. 

Her eyes were whirlpools of black and her magi was rising steadily. The two arguing were blast into the pillars by an invisible force and a loud sickening crunch was heard. 

Ituli managed to stand and apologize to Kohra. The night elf arguing with him had her spine broken and she was knocked unconscious. 

"No one shall turn my palace into a battlefield. I will show no mercy after this. We would continue this meeting later" Kohra says and storms out of the throne room, Lesker at her heels.

"Kohra! Kohra! You need to calm down. You knew there was bound to be conflict there. Just relax"

"Lesker, if you know what is good for you, you'd leave me alone. I can't believe I was trying to help them. I've truly gone soft and it's all your fault"

"You're not wrong but not totally right either. You're kind Kohra and you're a great ruler. Just go cool off and we'll be back to that confusing meeting"

"I'm not promising I won't kill someone next time"

Myer's eyes snapped open and he groaned immediately. His head felt like it had been hit by a sledgehammer, numerous times. 

He tries to sit up. He looks at where the venom had hit him. It was bandaged cleanly and he no longer felt pain. In fact, he could barely feel the place at all. 

He stood up shakily and wobbled to the entrance of the tent he was in. When he opened it, even the aesthetics couldn't prevent the shock that hit him.

His brother was seated in the middle of two burly Drakkens, playing and laughing.

"You shouldn't be moving by now, you'll open your wounds" Uma says from beside him. He jumped as he didn't notice the Drakken was already beside him.

"Did you heal me?"

"No. I'm not a healer. Kil did. He may be big but he's handy with a scapel"

"Thank you"

"It's no problem. Like I said, you helped us out"

"Ataliya.........." Myer said after a moment of silence.

"What?"

"We're going to Ataliya"

"Oh, that's a long way from here. Where are you from?"

"I don't know. We've lived in the forest for most our lives with our parents who recently passed away. We are going to live with a relative in Ataliya"

"You two are so brave, leaving home and fighting against that monster. Instead of going all the way to Ataliya, why not live here, in Veron?"

"Hun? Where's that?"

"You boys grew up in the forest so you don't know this is the territory of the Drakkens, the kingdom of Veron. To the far south is the Coldlands but no one knows what's there and nobody can survive there. To the east is the Kingdom of Talkita and from there you can get to Ataliya. It would take you months of travelling to get there. Why not just live here? There are lots of humans living in this kingdom without trouble. With your talents, you could easily become a warrior"

"No thanks. It's my mother's last wish for us to go to Ataliya"

"I'm just trying to help you. Compared to our kingdom, Ataliya is a far more dangerous jungle. The predators that live there could rip you in half and you wouldn't know what hit you. Here is safer"

"I'll take my chances. My father taught me not to shy from danger"

"Suit yourself" Uma said and left him there, sinking in his thoughts.
