CHAPTER 32

Adam questioned whether the dinner was the right decision. It was not because Giselle looked hot in her outfit and not seeing her for such a long time made him behave like a virgin. It was due to the fact that the child she was babysitting looked a lot like her.

“Adam, this is my brother Joshua. Jay, this is Adam”

“Hello Joshua……”

“Call me Jay. Gigi, why are we going to dinner with this guy? He looks like a dork and I’m sure his IQ reduces when he sees you" Joshua says with a mock sigh. Giselle gives him a small flick to the forehead.

“Jay! What did we say about being brutally honest?”

“Don’t do it in front of guests. I’m sorry, I just couldn’t control myself. He’s staring at you like he wants to gobble you up”

“It’s cos I look hot, don’t I?” Giselle said with a chuckle.

“Damn straight”

The two gave each other a hi-five while Adam looked on confused.

“Don’t cuss too. Let’s go Adam”

“Y-Yeah”

They got into the luxurious limited edition car that immediately earned Joshua’s approval.

“Your car is fire”

“Thanks. I just got it”

“Gigi, can I have one too?”

“You’re nine. Wait nine more years and we’ll see about your request”

“You’re such a prude”

“Who can slug you up to the ninth heaven. Want to have a go right now?”

“Urgh, aren’t you on a date? Be civilized, lady!”

Both Giselle and Adam chuckled. The boy looked quiet but once he got comfortable, he was quite the chatterbox. They pulled up at Yuri’s restaurant and got another exclusive seat like the last time.

“Dr. Cheadle, you’re here. It’s so nice to see you after all this while”

“Hello, Miss Tomasi. How have you been?”

“I’ve been well. The doctor you recommended was outstanding”

“Haha. I hope I haven’t lost my patient to him already”

“No. There is no one as unique as you, Dr. Cheadle. By the way, who’s this little cutie? Your son?”

“He’s my little brother, Jay. Jay say hello to miss Yuri”

“Hello Miss Yuri”

“Hello there Jay. You’re just as beautiful as your sister”

“Miss, I don’t think that’s the right word”

“Trust me little one, it is”

“Yuri, stop trying to pick up little boys too and bring our food”

“Prude” Yuri commented and walked away.

Despite Joshua’s initial reaction, dinner was really enjoyable for him. Both he and Adam were able to find a middle ground, their love for luxury sports cars. Giselle could only watch as they prattled on about things she couldn’t care less about. Still, it was nice to see him so cheerful after finding out about such a serious condition.

On the other hand, Adam noticed the love and care that was showered on Joshua by Giselle. He knew firsthand how apathetic she could be but who knew such a person would be so careful with those she cared about?

All in all, the dinner ended on a good note. Adam drove them home and Giselle stayed back to talk to him after sending Joshua inside.

“Thank you for dinner. It was delicious and well appreciated”

“You don’t have to be so polite. I owe you so much, it’s the least I could do”

“Hmm. What about your cousin? The one who was looking for a doctor?”

“Oh, she still hasn’t found one yet. Dr. Monroe said his schedule was full so he couldn’t accept more patients”

“I happen to be quite free nowadays. I’m scheduling online sessions for all my patients till the new hospital is completed. However, since I’ve referred most of them, it would be hard to get them back with me”

“While it is good to hear you’re working again, I wouldn’t want to impose on you like that. My cousin can be quite spontaneous”

“Adam, at this point, do you really think I can’t handle spontaneous?”

“Well, if you say so. I’ll send her number to you so you can talk to her”

“No problem. Have a nice night Adam”

“And you too Giselle”

The two lingered there awkwardly for a while before a red-faced Adam got into his car and drove off. Gabrielle, who had just arrived, looked at her sister in suspicion.

There was a thin smirk on Giselle’s face as she watched the car disappear in the distance.

“You looked like you were about to kiss him again”

“I was. Too bad he ran”

“You love playing with fire, don’t you?”

“Of course. The risk is always worth the reward”

Gabrielle gave Giselle a look of contempt, causing the latter to burst into laughter.

“It’s always fun to see your reactions”

“Weirdo”

The two enter the house and Gabrielle collapses on the chair like she was boneless.

“How’d the date go?”

“Pretty normal. He was nice, polite, and loaded. It was boring”

“So, no second date then?”

“Next week, amusement park. I do hope it goes well”

“He’s a normal man, of course, it would. You’re lucky. On my first date, I was tied to a bed”

“Yikes!”
