CHAPTER 45

A city’s mafia was going through a bigger crisis than people thought. The mafia was split cleanly into two and the two parts were being dragged by other members of the underworld. It was a huge mess the Denver siblings didn’t know where to begin to sort. However, Giselle proposed a plan.

“The first thing to do is to get your loyal followers and your elites. Convince the rest with your ideals. Amelia, your ideals should be convincing enough. Adam, you seem charismatic, I’m sure you have the most followers. Adrien, I have only one thing in mind for you; go crazy. You don’t need to care about anything.

Just keep attacking people randomly. I want you to provoke as many people as possible. You should be talented at that, right?”

“And yet, you take the cake” Adrien grumbled.

“For every organization he attacks, you two kill their heads and annex them into your forces. Adrien, you have a limit of ten, use it wisely”

“No offense Giselle, that sounds like a reckless plan. Everywhere is in chaos now, we can’t.....” Adam interjected.

“Would you shut up for a bit you coward? Can you not see what she’s saying? Right now, if we take advantage of the chaos, we can take over some organizations and expand ours. It’s an excellent plan and one we can definitely achieve” Amelia explained.

“Ohhh” the two men exclaimed in wonder.

“Has it always been like this for you?” Giselle asked Amelia with pity.

“Unfortunately. I’m so glad you’re here”

“Yeah. Announce that Adrien is the new head and totally bulldoze through this chaos. I can bet within a few days, the stormy clouds would clear and you would be back on top”

“We can also use this chance to hijack a part of the gang that uncle Chris is controlling. We’re going to fight fire with fire”

“That’s the spirit, Amelia. Go for it”

“But, what about you? It would be totally obvious that you’re on our side. We don’t have forces to spare to protect you if you’re far from us”

“You don’t have to worry about that. Just a few calls and my family would be safe. By the way, I’ll be sending you the help of the government. Find something useful to give them”

“Giselle.....” Amelia wanted to protest but the look in Giselle’s eyes made her back down.

“Fine. We’ll do as you asked. Thank you”

“You’re welcome”

Back to the present, Adrien had already completely fulfilled his quota. The three managed to capture a substantial part of the prison gang and were able to narrow down their father’s location by infiltrating the communication lines.

“Why don’t you want me to go with you? I want to fight too!!” Adrien loudly protested.

“You seem to have forgotten your position. You’re no longer the leader of SOLEMN. You’re now the head of the Denver family and the leader of Lionheart. Don’t be foolish and wait quietly for our return!” Amelia admonished.

“Then I’d rather go in your steads. You can be the leader! Besides, won’t it be better if I go? I’ll be bait”

“For one, they don’t know about our attack, we’re surprising them. Two, you need to stay here in case something happens to us so you can protect the twins. Three, bringing you along would make us predictable. If they manage to kill all the older leaders of Lionheart then it would be easy for them to take over and possibly kill the twins. WE. NEED. YOU. HERE!!”

“But......”

“Adam, knock him out”

Before Adrien could react, Adam chopped him at the back of his neck and he fell limply into his brother’s arms. Adam handed him over to Jellal.

“Take good care of him and the house. We’ll be back”

“Be careful, boss”

“I will”

The two leave the house and took a route that was only known to people who were there before the establishment of A city. The Denver family mafia had existed for quite a long time so they were familiar with it. However, in the middle of the road, the car stopped. Amelia alighted from it and walked into an abandoned house at the side of the road. She knocked on the door five times and entered.

“You made it”

“Yeah. I’m sorry we had to put you through all this”

“It’s fine. I didn’t want to resort to this method but I have no choice. I’ll be gone for a while. Take care of my family for me”

“I promise”

“Here!” she said, throwing a bag at Amelia.

“You’ll need it. Good luck ”

After that, Amelia never saw her again.
